DesignaKnit can tell the difference between Lace and Fine Lace Knitting for Brother Machines and between Simple and Fashion Lace for Silver Reed Machines.  In the Interactive Knitting Screen there are instructions for changing lace settings and swopping from the Lace to the Knitting Carriage and vice versa.

Prepare patterns for lace knitting

Bands of Lace can be combined with other stitch techniques such as Fairisle, Tuck, Slip, Garter or hand tooled patterns.  The patterns can be drawn in graph form using symbols for the stitches or in "Fabric View" which gives a good representation of the finished knitting. Hand-Knitters can print charts in recognised symbols for the techniques used.
